Press release for LA Roses Rally

Attached is the press release announcing the Roses Rally to be held at the Malaysian Consulate in Los Angeles, California, on February 16, 2008.

Press Release

We, a group of concerned Malaysian Indians residing in California, are holding a peaceful rally in front of the Consulate General of Malaysia, Los Angeles to present red & yellow roses to the honorable Dato’ Seri Abdullah Badawi, the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

We request that a representative from the Consulate General of Malaysia be present to receive the roses on behalf of the Prime Minister;

Date of event: February 16, 2008
Venue: In front of Consulate General of Malaysia, Los Angeles (address: 550 South Hope Street, Suite 400, Los Angeles, CA 90071)
Time: 10am – 2pm

Red roses would signify the Malaysian Indians love and peaceful struggle whilst yellow roses would signify the demand for justice for Mr. Uthayakumar, Mr. Manoharan, Mr. Ganabathirau, Mr. Kengadharan and Mr. Vasanthakumar, incarcerated without trial under the draconian Internal Security Act and for the rights of the minority Indian community who have been neglected for 50 years since the independence of Malaysia.

All are welcome.
