In fact Malaysia has gone backwards in terms of race relations, racial harmony, racial integration, multi racialism, national unity and multi religionism all because of UMNO’s racist and religious extremist policies and agenda. Malaysia’s founding Finance Minister was Tun H. S. Lee and subsequently Tun Tan Siew Sin was Malaysia’s Second Finance Minister. So was Clough Thuraisingam who was pre independence Malaysia’s first Education Minister (Member) in 1955. Malacca’s founding Governor and now known as the Yang Di Pertuan Besar was a Malaysian Chinese Tun Leong Yew Koh (1957- 1959) and so was Rear Admiral, K. Thanabalasingam who was the first local Navy Chief of Malaysia from 1967 to 1977 (Utusan Malaysia Gaya Tentera 27/04/2009 at page 7). Immediately after independence the Chief Judges of Malaya and Borneo had been Indians and Chinese namely SS Gill and Lee Hun Hoe etc. But today appointments of an Indian to all these posts can never ever happen ever again as long as UMNO rules. The reason is UMNO says so and they assert their hollow authority claiming Article 153 of the Federal Constitution.

Ever since after independence UMNO has seen to it that the post of Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) except for the State of Penang, Chief Justice, Chief Judge and President of the Court of Appeal, Attorney General, Inspector General of Police, Army, Navy and Air Force Chiefs , Chief Secretary to the Government, all 20 public University Vice Chancellors, all District Officers, all Municipal Council Presidents,all Mayors (expect Kuching North) are exclusively reserved for Malay Muslims. So are almost all of the posts of Secretary Generals, Director Generals, Directors, Heads of Department, Chief Executive Officers and Chairman of Government linked companies, statutory bodies, corporations etc.
