Ketuanan Melayu will be and shall be a part of vote-getter in the coming election. Why so? Because its ketuanan melayu and also Islamic supremacy that had put UMNO and BN in Putrajaya all this while. Beside economic concern, people ' do not live on rice alone' but the desert that life is all about.
Ketuanan Melayu would be the deciding factor as even the economy is tied to it with the bumiputra status. Depending on the wisdom and convincingness of the message from BN or PR, the people will be sway to vote for the 'gain'. Its all about selfish gain that the voters are interested in. Very little about the future for all.
UMNO politcians and Perkasa can no longer fool the Malays in this country by promising them Ketuanan Melayu but in real practice it is Ketuanan Kumpulan Dalaman UMNO. Even those common UMNO members do not get much unless they are in the inner UMNO circle. That is why more and more Malays are joining Pas and PKR.
As a Malay, I am totally against any form of supremacists- either from Malays or non-Malays. This is absurd and unacceptable in today's globalised world. Many, many and many of us are definitely swayed by the standpoints of our political parties in this very sensitive subject. We don't really care about development, bread and butter issues so long as these supremacists are defeated. Even if development is casted back into the stone-age, the rakyat would be willing to pay the price for equality and freedom from oppression.
Article 153 read particularly with Article 8 and other articles in the constitution is clear that there is no 'ketuanan' this or that!
The 'Ketuanan Melayu' advocated by the UMNO elites is only to benefit the UMNOputras, hijacking the NEP to enrich themselves at the expense of other Malays and Malaysians! This "Ketuanan Melayu" call is just the pretext by UMNOputras, with the silent consent of their BN cronies and collabarators, to continue exploiting the masses!
Ketuanan melayu is no more than Umno politicians from lowest rank to the highest rankings in Umno to plunder rakyat's money and agreed 100% nothing to do to impress non bumi to get their votes. It is well known to all Malaysian that UMNO only thinks about their well-being rather than the rakyat.

Except for the poor Malays and Umno diehards the concept rings hollow to them. That is why one finds that more and more educated and professional Malays are leaving the country and working abroad.
