If some Muslims are so immoral be it on 14th February or through out the year because they are so weak in their religious beliefs, then this is good for them.I am not paying taxes for the government to feed thrown away babies and running baby drop off points, and having police busy going around picking up baby bodies instead of preventing crimes.
And please don;t blame other religions for decaying of Islamic values. It is the failure of Muslim religious teachers to teach and uphold religions value that led to a lot of problems in the Muslim community.

Perhaps, the people who quickly jumps to conclusion and starts to "demonise" Islam based on a comment from an unintelligent speaker should also exercise tolerant and seek to further understand the belief prior to commenting. Let's assume I am a Malay Muslim, and on Valentine's Day, I take my girlfriend (also a Muslim) for a candlelight dinner. Over dinner, I gave her a box of chocolates. If I am approached by some religious officers who intend to arrest me for celebrating Valentine's Day, do I have to explain to him that I am celebrating my girlfriend's birthday [which is none of his business, anyway] which happens to fall on February 14 or would he be hell bent on arresting me because I am having a candlelight dinner on Valentine's Day. Another question, if a Muslim is born on February 14, must he shift his birthdate one day earlier or one day later because the date is soooooo "Christian". If Febrary 14, is so taboo to our religious zealots, then why bother to follow our current calendar which is a Gregorian or Christian calendar introduced by Pope Gregory XIII. We celebrate Hari Raya Puasa, Hari Korban and Prophet Mohummand's birthday based on this Christian calendar. Don't they consider this haram as well? Other things include, the banning of rock groups and singers from playing their music as they are all derived from Black Gospel [read Christian] music.
This is laughable, to prevent Muslims from immoral activities. Are the religious authorities blind to the fact that incest, rape of minors and adults are mostly committed by Muslim Malays. What are they doing to address this problem? What about corruption, abuse of power, breaches of trust, cheating and forgery committed by Muslims? Are the religious authorities doing any thing about it? Are not these acts immoral? There is a Koranic verse that says one must turn away from those who give sermons and ask for alms. Well, being paid to give sermons means the same thing.
The problem is that Jakim, Jais and other religious authorities in the country are ignorant of the real world. Those who go for religious studies are just taught to swallow what are poured down their throats. The books of reference were written by ulamaks more than 1,000 years ago and their discourses were tailored to the society then, which when implanted to the present day becomes anachronistic.
Many Malay Muslims cannot differentiate between culture, language, tradition, ethnicity and religion. Islam was introduced here by Arab traders and as a result Islam here is viewed through Arab eyes, so everything Arab is synonymous with Islam. By any reasoning a faith has no culture. So Chinese, Malays, Indians or any other race can embrace a certain faith, but they retain their cultures. Not many can appreciate this point.
