Malaysian Police told to comply with Article 10 (1) (b) of Federal Constition on the right to Freedom to assemble peacefully without arms.

This afternoon at 2.00pm one ASP Suffian bin Sulaiman from IPD Kuala Lumpur called and spoke to our P.Uthayakumar on behalf of Dato Pahlawan Zulkifli bin Abdullah, the Chief Police Officer (CPO) of Kuala Lumpur on an “arrangement” to facilitate the Hindraf Rally at KLCC at 9.00 pm on 27/2/2011 and called for a meeting at 5.00pm this evening.

P.Uthayakumar however told this ASP to ask the CPO to comply with the aforesaid Article 10 (1) (b) of the Federal Constitution grant a police permit, and allow Hindraf and HRP supporters to assemble peacefully at KLCC and escort us to the Dang Wangi Police station to all lodge mass police reports against the 54 years of state sponsored UMNO racism against especially the Indian poor in Malaysia.

The ASP said he would call back but as at time of publication has not yet got back to us.
