PAS Youth gathers in preparation to replace Umno

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 — PAS Youth hopes to gather 30,000 members next Saturday to prepare and signal its readiness to take over from Umno as the dominant Malay party in the next general election.

Its youth chief Nasrudin Hasan Tantawi said a gathering called “Masa untuk Berubah: PAS Sedia Ganti Umno” (Time to Change: PAS ready to replace Umno) will be held in Kedah to outline specific “duties, regulations and orders” to capture what the movement believes will be the rise of the young in the impending polls.

“This gathering will take place just a week after the world saw the young generation in Egypt rise up to bring down Hosni Mubarak’s regime that was in power for 30 years,” said Nasrudin, referring to the Egyptian president who stepped down on Friday.

“I believe the same spirit and awareness will reach our country’s youth who will rise up to replace Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) who have ruled for 50 years and give its mandate to PAS and Pakatan Rakyat (PR) in the next general election,” he added.

Top party leaders including spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat and president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang will attend the meet where Nasrudin is scheduled to give the keynote address to PAS Youth members on “the duty of our struggle as well as regulations and order specifically to face the rising wave of youth towards winning the 13th general election.”

The event will be key to PR’s hopes in an election that is speculated to be called this year by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, as the pact relies heavily on PAS’s election machinery to reach Malay voters that make up two-thirds of the electorate.

The opposition pact has suffered a loss of Malay support since July 2009’s Manek Urai by-election and PAS, which is chiefly in charge of winning Malay votes, has stepped up its efforts to reverse the swing towards Umno.

It will also be holding a convention next week to outline its guarantees to Malays should PR take federal power, including plans to increase the income of those earning RM1,500 or less a month, 73 per cent of whom are Bumiputeras.

Central working committee member Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad had said the party would make a firm stand on issues such as Islam as well as the political and economic position of Malays to “contest areas which Umno says is theirs.”

Najib, who is also BN chairman, met with Umno division chiefs yesterday in the latest of a series of discussions with local BN leaders nationwide that are seen as preparations for possible snap polls soon.

In the past few weeks, he has also met with his assemblymen in Sarawak, where a state poll must be held by July and also all BN MPs.

Najib is said to be waiting for projects under the Economic Transformation Programme, which aims to double per capita income by 2020, to start gaining traction with the economy before dissolving Parliament.

Singapore Free Air TV - What does RTM and monopolist Media Prima provides to Indian community?

BOYCOTT MALAYSIAN TV STATIONS CAMPAIGN!!!

BOYCOTT ALL ADVERTISEMENTS SHOWN IN THESE STATIONS - TV1, TV2, TV3, NTV7, TV8 & TV9

WE SHOULD TEACH THESE MORONS A LESSON.

WHY SHOULD YOU VOTE FOR THE GOVERNMENT THAT PRACTICES DISCRIMINATORY POLICIES?

Every Mondays to Fridays Singapore TV station (Vasantham) provides free programmes to Indian communities from 3.00 pm to 12.00 midnight

Every Saturdays and Sundays the programmes starts at 1.00 pm to 12.00 midnight.

Look at the contribution of Malaysian government TV (RTM), TV1 & TV2 serving Indian community in Malaysia.

Malaysian Monopolist Media Prima (TV3, NTV7, TV8 & TV9) serves "0" programmes for Indian community.
How Malaysians watch their pathetic and idiotic programmes?

How shall we deal with these racists?

They are not bothered of the existence of Indian communities in Malaysia.

How does MIC deals with this problem? As usual no issue for them.

It is high time for Indians to demand for a FREE AIR TV station for their own community as they have been deprived by their own government to serve minority community.

If Singapore government is very concerned of minority community, why not Malaysian govt. Why Malaysian govt has to practice discriminatory policies?

Vasantham: Singapore Channel E24 (Tamil)

All Indians in Malaysia should unite to overcome the discrimination towards Indians in Malaysia.

mi1 is going to highlight this issue until 13th General Election and till Indians in Malaysia been awarded a new Free air TV station from Malaysian government.
