Najib risks being remembered as Father of Porn and Smut

In Monday's report, Najib’s 2-year tenure as head of government without trusted, experienced old guard was chronicled and we bring you the conclusion as we review the incidents, achievements and the rakyat’s prognosis.

Much publicity but results markedly less

On March 27, Najib held a grand event to celebrate the so-called success of his GTP (Government Transformation Programme). This gala-do is again media hype and publicity for his programmes, which are designed as a smokescreen, to cover up for his inefficiency in many areas, opined the Australian investor.

In regards to public transport, the KPI is certainly not met according to the view of Kepong, DAP MP Tan Seng Giaw. He informed Malaysia Chronicle Kepong is in dire need of an LRT or MRT as the KTM Commuter trains are packed like sardines on weekday peak hours and on weekends too when foreign workers make use of public facilities.

Many of his constituents complained to him regarding Rapid Bus U11, which services Kepong Baru being irregular in timing. Tan made a check and found out although it is a long journey from Taman Sri Sinar to KL city, there are only 3 buses plying the route, which causes commuters, to wait for more than 2 hours if they miss a bus. Sometimes, even if one of the buses break down, it makes the situation worse.

On the personal fron Khalil remarked Najib and Rosmah are like a celebrity couple, Azan concurred by adding Malaysia does not need what he labels as 'the glamour couple' to run the nation.

Indeed, First Lady Rosmah Mansor is a celebrity in her own right. Her First Ladies Summit and Permata programmes generated widespread publicity, propelling her into the limelight. She made official visits to other countries on Malaysia's behalf and her tour of duty was given much publicity.

DAP's MP of Ipoh Barat S. Kulasegaran remarked the 1Malaysia slogan has been given way too much hype but failed to play its role in fostering racial harmony and unity citing examples pertaining to the Interlok and Bible sagas.

Najib announced publicly 1Malaysia is his brainchild but Kula viewed it as nothing but a ploy to capture the non-Malay votes as UMNO knows MCA and MIC have lost much of their clout.

"Where is the fair distribution of wealth? Najib's economic programmes are big-sounding but of little substance," commented Kula.

Social reforms vis-a-vis laws

In terms of social reforms pertaining to draconian laws for example Sedition Act 1972, Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 and Internal Security Act 1960, there has been little or almost no change.

Deaths in police custody have been occuring, the most prominent being the case of A. Kugan. The death of Teoh Beng Hock in the premises of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) tarnished the image of the government.

In the areas of crime and policing although the police repeatedly trumpeted the decrease in crime rate, the sprouting up of many guarded and gated communities is an indication, perhaps, the rate of decrease is not as much as hoped for. Still, it cannot be denied in certain areas the crime rate decreased due to more police patrols for which they should be commended.

"There is still much to be done as many snatch thefts go unreported due to the hassle of making a police report, especially when the victims are elderly and cannot converse well in Bahasa Malaysia.

The police should set up more beat bases," said DAP's Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng whose Taman Sri Sinar area has a high rate of snatch theft.

Father of porn and smut

The Malaysian Judiciary and the Attorney-General's Chambers have become highly dubious institutions, lacking in credibility in the international arena, what more with the farcical ongoing trial of Sodomy II and the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI), trying to ascertain the details concerning the background of Teoh's death.

While Najib's performance is not stellar and merits only a 'C', the latest video scandal (allegedly) planned by UMNO lackeys loses him the grade. It purportedly shows someone resembling Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim in a sex tryst. This incident downgraded his report card from a 'C' to a 'D' for it caused Najib’s image to be somewhat tarnished in this highly dubious expose.

It was proven Anwar was keying into Facebook at the material point in time when the sex tryst was supposed to be taking place.

Instead, Najib's 2-year tenure was characterised by a slew of sex scandals orchestrated by his camp, to bring down Pakatan Rakyat and reduce the people's chance of having a true and vibrant democracy.

Indeed Najib failed to exercise his powers in a responsible manner. He should take a leaf out of Peter Parker's book and try to be more credible amidst all the media hype, to jack up his image, which may be enough to deceive the gullible Malaysian electorate but will fail to deceive the prudent and sharp-eyed foreign investors.

Yes, ultimately he gets a 'D' in his 2nd year annual report card and it is recommended he watches Spiderman movies so his score card does not deteriorate to an 'E' or worse still an 'F'. - Malaysia Chronicle
