Hindraf fighting for the future generations from Malaysian apartheid government

14th August HRP Forum Civil Suit Against the British "what do u mean by civil suit"...."how significant will it be for the Indians here" ...."are we going to get anything out of it"... these were the type of questions thrown to me for trying to publicise the forum amongst my acquitances!!!

I woke up early on 14th August with anticipation on how the forum will turn out.

When i reached the Hokkien Hall at about 9.10 am, the hall was not even half full. However, the crowd started coming in after 9.40 am and by 10.00 am the hall was filled to the brim.

The event started off with Hindraf's appointed UK Lawyer Suresh Grover surrounded by supporters carrying flags of the outlawed organisation, accompanied by inspirational tamil songs.

The crowd just went wild with cries of "Valgha Hindraf" and "Valgha Suresh Grover"!

Speech by Hindraf Naragan in Tamil was just totally inspiring and motivational, i could see that the crowd related to the speech with much enthusiast. He reminded the supporters that rumours about getting compensation was false information by some reckeless individuals. Rather, this Civil Suit promises a better future for the next generation of Indians.

Lawyer Suresh Grover's speech was all about the Civil Suit, and what relevance it will bring upon the Malaysian Indians. He also elaborated on the evidence that he was seeking from Malaysian Indians.

The civil suit which named the British Crown and government as the defendants, is to seek recompense for the alleged victimisation of Indians, who were forced to relocate to then Malaya by the Empire and thus led them to life of abject poverty.

A short video clip of Hindraf Leader Mr. Waytha Moorthy was also aired.

All in all the whole event was well organised, inspiring, informative and proved to be a total hit with the supporters. Personally i believe that it is my rightfull duty and resposibility as a Malaysian of Indian origin to support this noble cause brought upon by Hindraf.

And oh yes....to all my dear acquitances with all those questions about this forum....You guys wasted a perfect opportunity to witness history and to support this cause being Indians....Shame on you guys!

The great Mahatma Gandhi once said, "the future depends on what we do in the present", and this is just what the Hindraf organisation is practising. Fighting for the future generations.

Regardless whether Hindraf wins the Civil SUit or not, Hindraf is a winner already for making this historical move.
