We say no to corruption because we love Malaysia

MARCH 2 — We didn’t say no, simply because the opposition asked us to. We say no, because we pray sincerely for a better Malaysia.

We welcome any investment that brings profits to our country, but only if the investment is confirmed to be safe and clean. We are not risking our children’s lives for the sake of economic growth.

We do say no to many proposed plans, but don’t accuse us of not wanting development. We had seen enough white elephants lying here and there, and that’s why.

We definitely could not make ourselves believe that it will be well-treated, well-maintained and be profitable. We had seen that even Japan, which is well known for its work ethics and technologies, is suffering the biggest nuclear disaster after Chernobyl.

We do appreciate the jobs created and that life will get better, but not when the next rainfall might contain radiation, or the fish might be polluted and eventually get into our body system. We have already lost many rivers and forests to economic growth. We wish to show our children and our grandchildren the natural beauty of Malaysia.

We do prefer to stay at home, have tea and chat with our beloved ones. We gather and march on the streets because our voices couldn’t make it to the surface.

We do not tolerate any violence act as we are taught to be fair and kind. We demand an apology from those who had acted uncivilly and put Malaysia to shame.

We want action to be taken straight away because we have no time to spare anymore. We are tired with the excuses and foolish comments from those who have chosen to close their minds.

We say no to corruption, say no to anyone who has been power-hungry. We thank you for what you have done until now, but if you are not good enough we have the right to ask you to leave.

We love Malaysia as inilah tanah tumpahnya darahku. We love Malaysia so we have the right to say no.
