PUTRAJAYA, May 22 – Several major roads in Putrajaya will be closed off, especially along Persiaran Perdana, to make way for various activities in conjunction with the One Million Youth Gathering starting tomorrow until Sunday.

Those affected are junctions along Persiaran Perdana including Persiaran Perdana/Jalan Pembangunan (next to the Immigration building/National Registration Department), Persiaran Perdana junction/Jalan Kemerdekaan and Persiaran Perdana junction/Lebuh Setia (next to Wisma Tani, Youth and Sports Ministry).

The Putrajaya Corporation, in a statement today, said closure of these roads starting tomorrow until Friday may affect those working in Putrajaya.

Jalan Perpaduan will be fully closed off to allow the Human Capital segment to be conducted along the whole stretch, the statement said.

Motorists using Jalan Tun Abdul Razak will need to turn left at Persiaran Perdana and other destinations upon arriving at the junction. However, Persiaran Perdana will be open to all vehicles.

On Saturday and Sunday, the whole of Persiaran Perdana and its surrounding areas will be closed to traffic.
Therefore, the public is urged to use public transportation to avoid congestion and heed signboards provided.
“Continuous bus services to the gathering will be available from Putrajaya Sentral as well as several precincts and parking areas.

“Trams will also be available along Persiaran Perdana to make it easier for visitors to move, and they can take these trams to any of the locations offered,” the statement added. – Bernama
