No Serious Discussions Yet About My Re-Contesting Says Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR, April 28 (Bernama) -- Parti Keadilan Rakyat advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Monday he had only received verbal offers from Pakatan Rakyat (PR) Members of Parliament for him to contest a by-election to enable him to return to Parliament.

However, no serious discussions had taken place about the offers, he said.

"I want to re-contest, but for now we are waiting first," he told reporters when met at a dinner for PR parliamentarians at Parliament's multipurpose hall here.

He did not want to delve on the matter further and said he would let the media know about it at the appropriate time.

Anwar, 57, became free to contest in elections on April 14 after being banned from active politics for five years following a corruption conviction.
