Dear Y.A.B,

Re: Jalan Akob, Kapar Tamil School no Electricity for three months

We refer to the above matter and wish to bring to your kind attention that the Jalan Akob, Kapar Tamil School has been without electricity for the past three months since 7th May 2008 when the school switch board got burnt Tamil Nesan 10/07/08 g 5).

As a result 161 students’ education is effected. Despite the school headmaster’s and Parents Teachers Association’s formal complaint to the Education Department no immediate action has been taken. Why? Because of the UMNO controlled government’s 50 years of racism and race based Educational policies. We are extremely disappointed that even on such a very basic and simple matter like this the Education Department cares a damn as it merely involves the Indians. Basic humanity for growing up children i.e. their education should not be compromised by your goodselves.

This Tamil School also does not have a fencing to start off with, no canteen, white ants eating up their school wood structures and ceiling and the walls are cracking. This is the tip of the iceberg to almost all 523 Tamil Schools in Malaysia. Would you allow this to happen to another Malay Muslim School? What more this school and almost 523 Tamil Schools have been denies a basic school building, computers, internet, graduate teaching staffs, resource room, playing field etc.

The government spends billions on human capital development but cannot attend to such simple basic necessity like this, just because these children are Indians and no or very little political, economical or internationally clout unlike the Malay, Chinese and the Orang Asli and the natives of Sabah and Sarawak.

The daily also reported that if no action was taken by Monday they would hold a peaceful assembly outside the school gates on Monday morning. Your goodselves are the cause of these pupils and the Indian community at larges anger and dissatisfaction against UMNO. The floodgates have been open since the 100,000 peaceful assembly in the city centre on 25/11/07 after which four Hindraf lawyers have been detained without trial for two years and/or indefinitely thereafter. This is our country as much as it is yours. We are the current third and fourth generations of Malaysia.

The only difference is you are backed up by the army, police, the civil service and the local authorities. One day the floodgates may burst because of your hatred, oppression, suppression, discrimination, marginalization and permanent colonialisation of the Indians in Malaysia.

Thank you,

Yours faithfully,

P. Waytha Moorthy
Chairman
