BN is Desperate. Anwar is Close to his Goal

I believe on the ground, people are leaving UMNO in droves, especially in states where UMNO lost. Even where I live, my sources tell me that local UMNO are having problems trying to get their members to come to meetings and Annual Meetings at Branch and Division level.

To think that the power that be should realized that using the same trick again might not work especially when the same trick didn’t work the first time. I mean, being a Malay, it was difficult to find one Malay that actually believed Anwar is a sodomizer, the first time around. People who do believe in the story usually decides to keep their opinion to themselves. I mean for a man who has more than 8 children like Anwar, it’s kindda hard to convince people that he has a taste for anal sex.

To me this presents an opportunity for Anwar to rally the Malay ground. In 2008, the Chinese and Indians rallied behind Pakatan Rakyat, while Malays predominantly went to Barisan Nasional. If this story breaks out and Anwar is once again smeared all over the Main Stream Media (MSM), it may present an opportunity for PR to rally the Malays.

That also explains why Utusan Malaysia does not mention Anwar Ibrahim’s name in their report on this incident: Liwat: Laporan polis terhadap pemimpin politik. It seems the negative coverage of Anwar Ibrahim 4 days before 2008 elections actually increased Anwar Ibrahim’s support level among the Malays by 4-5%, enough to sweep the carpet under BN’s feet in several states.

It may also mean that Anwar is close to his goal of replacing Barisan Nasional with a new government. So, out of desperation Anwar Ibrahim must be destroyed credibility wise. So, such maneuver is adopted.

But, to me I think the move is so lame. It is so unoriginal and of course, it was done before and failed miserably. We need to question why adopt the same failed strategy? That is a big question that needs to be answered.

I believe such move is adopted to prevent UMNO MP’s from jumping. They probably know that some UMNO MP’s are interested in joining Pakatan Rakyat. And since only UMNO members believe that Anwar Ibrahim actually committed sodomy, then by playing this game, they hope they can prevent an exodus of UMNO members and leaders into Pakatan Rakyat.
