UMNO forgetting their origins/roots and losing their sense of identity~malaysiakini

First of all, I would like to state and qualify that I am a Malay, but not a racist and neither do I support any political party…but I love my country. In light of the recent political developments in Perak, I believe many people are getting too emotional and what is expected of them as citizen or residents.

I urge the people of Malaysia to respect the sultans, think before penning your thoughts, use good judgments with proper decorum and do not hurt the feelings of other citizens in commenting on events.

Malaysia was originally inhibited by the Orang Asli and by the Melayu. The colonials brought in the Indians, Chinese and other races. I believe we have been living in harmony and these other races feel at home to the extent that some are beginning to feel that this country belongs to them, which is very good. Unfortunately, the situation recently changed with the propaganda of certain political parties and with certain Malays forgetting their origins/roots and losing their sense of identity. The other races have also lost respect for their original hosts (the Malays).

This country has sultans and they must be respected unless they break the law (this is very subjective though) or commit immoral acts. If the people (some Malays included) who live in this country feel that they cannot respect the sultans anymore and make statements that hurt the feelings of their hosts (the original Malays) or disregard the feelings of the host, they should consider migrating.

As the Malay proverb says, masuk kandang kambing mengembek, masuk kandang kerbau menguak or the English version, ‘When in Rome, do as the Romans do’. Forget about overthrowing the sultanate as the May 13, 1969 chaos will recur and we will lose this beloved country.

We must remember that the instability of a country will be manipulated by foreign powers. This means exercising control over a sovereign state or country and we do not want that to happen to our country. Let’s live in harmony. Voice our concerns or any dissatisfaction through your political representative or NGO.

The Mighty Pen says: To the lover of your country, we the ex-lovers reply to you. While you have qualified your race, you have mysteriously avoided your political affiliation by your neutral statement of non-political connection. We believe the “hate” syndrome that was conspired by the ruling front is the main cause of the current emotional stand against the rulers of your country. You have ignorantly in your comment called for the respect towards the rulers of your country and have saintly advised Malaysians to respect “other citizens.” (Para 2). We are grateful to you for acknowledging the fact that the rulers are just ordinary citizens of this country.

Thank you for that piece of history highlighting the tainted views of the origination of Malays, Orang Aslis and the rulers, growing from the seed of that soil as opposed to the Darwin’s theory of relativity. Thank you too for that crooked understanding of the arrival of the original Indians and Chinese to this part of the world. Thank you too for deleting the part of history of the Palembang Prince called Parameswara. Perhaps an Indonesian Muslim child who is taught proper history in Indonesia can elucidate and bring enlightenment to your rusted brain taught by extremist history teachers of Malaysia.

You have called for Malaysians to respect the rulers of this land unless they have committed wrongful act (s), and by the very ignorant nature of your call, all rulers of this land will cease to be respected from today. We are always marveled by the frequent call for migration by people who have migrated to this part of land mainly from the Indian archipelago.

You and your masters frequent threats of May 13, and constantly polluting the ignorant minds about the control of foreign powers on this land have indeed driven the poor of your race and others to the brink of extinction.

Finally to this Malay writer or the host of civilization if you prefer, can you highlight to us the cut-off point in the time-line for those who came to this land of “opportunities” so that we can truly declare you as the ‘host’ of this land we call Malaysia.

AMERICA BELONGS TO THE AMERICANS, CHINA BELONGS TO THE CHINESE, INDIA BELONGS TO THE INDIANS…ALL SENSE OF BELONGINGS IS NOT TAINTED BY RACIAL OR RELIGIOUS AFFILIATIONS AND WHY SHOULD MALAYSIA ALIENATE ITSELF TO THE FREQUENT CALLS OF MIGRATION, BY THE IGNORANT MINDS OF THE RULING ‘ELITE.’ MALAYSIA TOO BELONGS TO ALL MALAYSIANS REGARDLESS OF RACE AND RELIGION!
