What can we conclude? Najib and UMNOs double standard 1MALAYSIA concept & Boneless Chicken IGP & Malaysian Police force

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 5 — Police have arrested 16 people including Human Rights Party leader P. Uthayakumar as they were attempting to march from Masjed Jamek to Dataran Merdeka here tonight for a candlelight vigil protesting last week’s cow-head demonstration by Section 23 residents in Shah Alam.

Authorities had closed off access to the square to prevent the group of about 50 demonstrators from carrying out the vigil.

The group first gathered near Central Market at about 7.30 pm and made their way towards the Masjid Jamek LRT station where they started lighting candles and distributing placards to supporters.

The placards read “Threat and insulting the religion of others is condoned by the government, where is justice?” and “Umno must repent”.

The group’s message echoed those of Pakatan Rakyat leaders, who believe the racially charged cow- head protest was instigated by Umno, the dominant party in the ruling Barisan Nasional.

As they marched towards Dataran Merdeka, Uthayakumar and Hindraf coordinator S. Jayathas led the march with songs as others followed them.

The singing didn’t last long as police soon moved in to detain the protesters, among them Uthayakumar’s fiancée S. Indradevi, despite the group heeding police orders to disperse and leave the area.

Also arrested were Hindraf leader and Uthayakumar’s brother P. Waytha Moorthy’s wife and sister.

Uthayakumar, who recently returned from medical treatment abroad, was seen manhandled by the police despite not resisting while his fiancée was roughly pushed and dragged into the police truck.

All 16 were later taken to the Dang Wangi police station to have their statement taken.

In a statement from his London base, Waytha Moorthy said he was appalled by the arrests, saying it was a deliberate and calculated attempt to target the main leaders of Hindraf so that the planned candle vigil would be foiled.

“Those vigil participants were going with candles and roses when they were arrested. PM Najib’s 1 Malaysia is a shame to all democracy-loving Malaysians.

“It is ridiculous that the Muslim extremist cow head protesters – with blood still dripping from the head – who behaved in violent manner, delivered fiery speeches promoting racial hatred and insulted Hindus were given full police protection whilst Hindraf supporters who were armed with unlit candles and roses were violently arrested, bundled and taken into police lock ups,” said Waytha Moorthy who lives in self-exile.

He branded the government and police as fascists who did not have any respect for the Federal Constitution, which provides for freedom of assembly, equality and freedom of religion.

In last week’s protest in Shah Alam, around 50 residents from Section 23 marched towards the Selangor state secretariat building after Friday prayers to protest the planned relocation of a Hindu temple to their housing area.

The protesters brandished a severed cow’s head during the protest, which was observed by the police. No arrests were made then or since.

Today, Selangor mentri besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim announced the relocation will now be temporarily put on hold, following an abortive Shah Alam town hall meeting called this morning to discuss the growing controversy.

Both my parents are Indian and Hindu; and I am an evolutionist.

In September 2009, some people in Malaysia paraded a cow's head. The media has the right to highlight it. What is news? When a dog bites a man, it is not news worthy. But when a man bites a dog, it is news worthy. The media makes news judgement. The media must be given freedom to decide what is news worthy or not. Please leave the media alone.

Some people decided to carry a cow's head. So what? They can carry a cow's head if they want. Nobody should be offended by it. The best thing to do is to play down on it and ignore it. The main thrust for Hindus should and must be in giving a good education to their children. The world will become more competitive. It is the duty of all Hindus in Malaysia to take care of their own families. Please do take care of your own family. If you can, please do work at two jobs so that you can get extra money.

Parading a cow's head should not perturb you. If it does perturb you, then you have only yourself to blame. Those people parading a cow's head look like comedians any way. Why are you perturbed by comedians? They say that laughter is the best medicine. It is good to have some comedy.

People do have the right to parade a cow's head, or for that matter, chicken wings, pig's ears, goat's feet, turtle shell, cat's tail, etc.

Incidentally, there are many Hindus in Malaysia who eat pork and beef. After you see a cow's head being paraded several times, then you would get used to it and it would no longer perturb you any more. The human mind has the capacity to de-sensitize. It may help to increase beef consumption. Wait a minute. Beef has high cholesterol but not as high as crustaceans.

Move on now guys in a structured manner.

MIC guys should throw out the worn-out leader and his team in a weeks time

Indians must not be distracted by the Hindraf and MIC when dealing with Pakatan Rakyat.

Exco members who are Indians, must stnd up to be counted when it comes to Indian issues. not accept 'bones' from the BN and keep quiet when knowing that Indian matters are being thrown out of the windows.

Take full advantage of the civil service situation vacant and fill up the quota of 7.4% for Indians. Then monitor and fight for Indian rights from within.

Register temples, churches and all places of worship for non-Muslims. Buy huge pieces of land for purposes of schools, places of worship and agriculture.

Identify the 'traitors' from within and tell them off.

Be truly accountable for all public funds - do not treat them like personal wealth and use for oversea trips, medical treatment, book launches etc.

  2. hi levelheaded,
I am also an Indian hindu . I would like to comment on your comments about the cow`s head protest. You have metioned that you are an evolutionist.
Right now the issue is not about ordinary people doing ordinary actions ( like what you said as comedians). This about dirty politic implemented by certain politicians and the indians current situation in this country. You need to have this political awareness first before you try to comment on this matter.
You also need to have deep knowledge on hinduism before you say something on it. Even Malay Muslims are feeling sad, angry and shame on those protesters for disgracing Islam and Hindu. I think you need to have some sense , love here on your own religion. At present, Indians in this country are struggling for equality, justice and political protection. Mind it, Indians are now not only struggling for butter and jam issue. Your two jobs suggestion will not make sense here because many are not being allowed to go to school . ( SUHAKAM`s statement 5,000 indian kids are not schooling) Many Indian youth are becoming criminals just because of lack of oppurtunity in working filed. If we refer to Malaysian Hindu Sangam, it has become a mandore for the ruling federal government. It has no function at all in guiding Hindus to live their lives in a good way. All this happen because Indians are being branded as minority who don`t have a strong political clout to defend their rights. So, levelheaded, please take back your words and keep to yourself. Indians are no more blind. We are clear with the dirty politic tactics played by BN and PKR.
