Pamphlets to explain anti-Anwar plot

SHAH ALAM: PKR youth is printing two million copies of a pamphlet explaining a high-level conspiracy to put Anwar Ibrahim behind bars and thereby remove from the political scene one of the most vocal and credible critics of the ruling regime.

Shamsul Iskandar Mat Akin (picture), who heads the youth wing of Parti Keadilan Rakyat, says the pamphlets will be distributed at every PKR function and during the 40-day road show that his group launched last week. They will also be made available at every mosque in the country, he added.

He said the campaign would expose Barisan Nasional, the police force and the judiciary as co-conspirators against the opposition leader. They would explain to the public how the conspirators hatched the plot to defame and imprison Anwar through a sodomy conviction, he added.

The sodomy case would be explained from the legal point of view, including the need for it to be handled through the syariah court system, he said.
