Cityboy: Vote for BN in the next general election and you will get a ‘Datuk' title. The title doesn't carry the prestige anymore since it's obtained for one's political affiliation rather than social and economical contribution. Otherwise my dog would deserve the title more than Hee Yit Fong.
Dood: How disgusting. I'm sure the awards are "recommended" by the (false) BN state government, and the sultan usually goes along with the recommendation, but there have been cases where the sultan doesn't go along with what was recommended.
To give someone like Hee a Datukship just speaks volumes of either ignorance or lack of judgment. And to think the Perak royal family was once one of the more respected ones before the defection fiasco. Times certainly have changed...
Keturunan Malaysia: Long long ago, a Datuk was a much respected person for he/she, without doubt, deserved the Datukship. I personally declined to receive one because I sincerely felt I was not qualified, and again at that time, I was not prepared to give up 'my way of life' to be worthy of same. Today, well sigh, is different from yesterday.
Chipmunk: So now we can bribe all the frogs with 'Datuk' title. If you take a stone and throw with your eyes closed, I am sure that stone will hit a 'Datuk'. Sad to say that now the honorary title is of no value except for BN and the frogs.

To be fair she is a deputy speaker and as a Malay I always think that any award given at the discretion of his royal highness. So he can award it to anyone that he thinks deserved such an award. No need for people like you make any further comments. If you dont like the royal, what makes you think they like you?
