KUALA LUMPUR: Some 4,243 voters in the Batang Kali state constituency are hopping mad at the inconvenience that has been fobbed onto them by the Election Commission.
They are part of the 13,488 voters who have had their stations transferred without their knowing, said PKR election director Fuziah Salleh.
“We are receiving complaints every day. It is most unprofessional. They have moved the names about to inconvenience voters and to deter them from coming out to vote. It’s a dirty strategy by the EC to ensure Barisan Nasional wins,” she said.
She said two other constituencies – Hulu Bernam and Kuala Kubu Baru were also affected by the shift of names on the electoral list.
“I am calling for the dissolution of the EC for failing to carry out the duties entrusted on it
“The EC has moved the voters around at will without following procedures and approval of any party,” she said.
The BN is battling to wrest the Hulu Selangor seat which fell vacant following the death of incumbent Zainal Abidin Ahmad from PKR on March 25.
Zainal had defeated four-term MP G Palanivel from MIC in the March 2008 general election by a flimsy 198-vote majority.
