Anwar well-qualified to lead nation

There is little doubt that Anwar Ibrahim is a charismatic leader and his mesmerising oratory skills keep his audience spellbound.

Anwar is being accepted more widely as a saviour to make amends to the damage done over a period of half a century to a system of governance that has indoctrinated the people to think and behave according to their ethnic origin rather than having a common national identity.

His road shows will continue to pull in the crowds who are not expected to be dampened by unfavourable weather conditions.

Fiery political rhetoric and impassioned pleas may help to flavour his speeches but they have to be supported by a clear vision and plans on how these changes for the better of all Malaysians are going to be implemented.

Half-a-century of lopsided government policies cannot be changed in a short time. The people have to accept the fact that what was condoned and allowed to dominate over the long period, needs very careful planning before any changes to change them can be introduced.

Anwar's vast political experience and having exposure on both sides of the political divide makes him well-qualified to lead the nation.

Anwar has emerged stronger and wiser though certain indications may prove otherwise. He continues to fascinate and exude confidence. These are good signs for tide of change to move in tandem with the times.

Our current prime minister is trying to match up to Anwar's stature but he is not really seen to have the qualities to match this level.
