It is a crime to recite poem in Malaysia? - Transformation???

Police may take action against national laureate A Samad Said over his poetry reading.

KUALA LUMPUR: Except for a few arrests, Merdeka Eve celebrations went on without a hitch.
Dang Wangi police chief ACP Zainuddin Ahmad told reporters at Dataran Merdeka that most people came to the capital tonight to see fireworks being lit here.
He added that two male youths, however, were caught playing with their own fireworks before midnight.
Government-sanctioned fireworks, however, did not appear to go off as planned. The ones that did seemed to have been lit by locals.
Meanwhile, Deputy KL Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief Khairi Ahrasa said that the police will look into national laureate A Samad Said’s poetry reading earlier last night.
He said that action can be taken against Samad under the Peaceful Assembly Act.
A total of 205 police officers were mobilised from the Dang Wangi and Bukit Aman police stations for Dataran Merdeka last night.
