P. I. Bala: RM5million to retract his statement linking Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to murdered Mongolian model Altantuya Shaaribuu.

Bala: RM5mil to make me shut up - (Youtube Video)

KUALA LUMPUR - P Balasubramaniam, the missing private investigator, has claimed in an 88-second video clip that he was offered RM5mil to retract his statement linking Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to murdered Mongolian model Altantuya Shaaribuu.

The allegations have been denied by Najib.

The claims were aired in an undated 88-second video clip hosted by the MalaysiaToday portal, whose main contributor is fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin.

His first statutory declaration (SD) was also put up with the video clip.

More to come

Bala said in the video that one 'Deepak' came to see him because he wanted Bala to retract his first SD. "After that he offered me RM5mil for me to retract it."

Bala, a former police officer, went missing with his family on July 4, 2008 after making a second SD that overturned the first declaration. His whereabouts are still not known.

Malaysia Today said there would be more video clips of the interview.

Bala's two SDs had stunned the murder trial of Altantuya, who was killed in 2006.

Three people, including political and defence strategist Abdul Razak Baginda, were arrested for plotting her death.

Abdul Razak was acquitted without his defence being called while the two policemen charged, Chief Insp Azilah Hadri and Cpl Sirul Azhar Umar, were sentenced to death for killing her.

Balasubramaniam was hired by Abdul Razak to keep watch over Altantuya's movements when she was in Kuala Lumpur to allegedly blackmail the political strategist.
