Home Minister wants A-G to probe Anwar’s claim about “King’s blessings” to topple Fed Govt

The Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hishmmuddin Tun Hussein said that the A-G (Attorney General), Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail should look into the matter from the legal and Federal Constitution point of view where Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim claimed to have gotten the blessings of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to take over the Federal Government on September 16, 2008.
The issue was sensationally revealed by Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim, the independent Bayan Baru Member of Parliament who ‘left’ the PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) recently. Hishammuddin said “Now that the matter was exposed publicly, Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail should look at the issue from the Federal Constitution point of view and that of the law. If Anwar had really invoked the King’s name as claimed, then it is truly offensive. The crossover claims as exposed by Bayan Baru MP Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim proved that Pakatan Rakyat was not above using lies to hoodwink the people.”

He added that “I also heard talk of several Barisan National MP’s planning to jump party and that the King and the armed forces were in support of Pakatan taking over the Government back then, but I thought it was just a rumour. However, the recent expose by Zahrain proves that the Opposition was willing to lie to fulfil its own political gain,”
