838 in cantonese means fatt sang fatt. Which literally translate to wealth alive wealth. Perhaps this auspicious day would be a brand new start for Malaysia to search for its future wealth and being alive and born again.
838 the day when Malaysians finally says enough is enough. No more fear. Don’t threaten us with fear. Malaysians have matured. Malaysians have voted with one voice. Not the voice of the chinese or indians who helped BN to their victory in 1999. But as a whole. Malays, Chinese and Indians standing together wanting to build a better Malaysia for their future generations to come.
Mainstream media (MSM) are on a renewal campaign. A tough but possible path. Though they are owned by politically linked companies, I frankly have noticed the change in The Star. If you take a good look at today’s Sunday Star, you will notice that there are a fair few articles which talks about the internal rifts of BN. This is rather unprecendented.
Election commission has set the tone that future election will be as fair if not fairer than the 838. In future Malaysians will be glad to know that every vote that they cast would be a vote of confidence or otherwise of the incumbent government.
Malaysia federal and state government could no longer neglect what the people are saying. Dispel rumours if they are rumours but prove to the people what is right and wrong rather than waving of keris here and there.
The Barisan Rakyat should not rest in its laurel. The people are watching you as well. Be truthful to the people and they will reward you again in five years time.
We know we have all helped in changing the Malaysia which we once fear and now it is the time to do better. Not to change but to make Malaysia a place which we can all truly share and love as Malaysians.
