PETALING JAYA: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Azmin Ali said Sabah Progressive Party President Yong Teck Lee felt satisfied with
the terms and conditions for party-hopping which was offered by Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
However, he said both parties had to wait the appropriate time to announce the details.
"I have represented PR to discuss with Yong Teck Lee on the party-hopping issue officially," Azmin said.
He said PR discussed with Sabah Progressive Party by offering the "development packages for Sabah people", including to ensure that there
were sufficient Sabah representatives in central government agencies and 20% of oil royalty would be given to Sabah.
"The development packages are welcomed by Yong Teck Lee. However, we don't set a date for them to join us. We feel that the transfer of power must be done in a democratic and harmony way," he told Sin Chew Daily in a phone interview, Friday (20 June).
Azmin is the Member of Parliament for Gombak. He said besides Barisan Nasional (BN) MPs in East Malaysia, some of the MPs from West Malaysia were interested to join PR in forming a new central government.
"We will have MPs from whole Malaysia to join PR because two MPs (Sabah Progressive Party MPs) are insufficient," he added.
"We have approached them (those who are interested to join PR), we are waiting for their responses," he said.
