Kota Kinabalu (11 July 2008):
1. SAPP's members of parliament Datuk Eric Enchin Majimbun (Sepanggar) and Datuk Dr. Chua Soon Bui (Tawau) will support the motion of no confidence on the Leadership of Prime Minister Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi proposed by Pakatan Rakyat.
2. The support is in line with SAPP's announcement on June 18 to move such a motion.
This expression of support reiterates SAPP's loss of confidence in the Prime Minister and the need for urgent government measures to address issues on Sabah rights and current concerns (fuel and food prices hike) plaguing the state.
SAPP President had last week said that the party was putting on hold its intention to move the no confidence motion on grounds of inflammatory and threatening statements from some government leaders. The statements included veiled threats of bloodshed uttered in parliament by Kota Belud MP.
The prospect that two non-Malay MPs from SAPP was going to bring a Malay Prime Minister into disrepute was an excuse by those who uttered racist threats.
Now that a motion of no confidence is being proposed by a Malay MP (Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah), the race factor is eased.

Approximately on 10 July 2008, Dr Wan Azizah Ismail (MP for Permatang Pauh ) filed a motion of no confidence against the Prime Minister and his Cabinet. Is there anything wrong? What’s wrong with filing a motion of no confidence against the Prime Minister and his Cabinet. I cannot state that I know all the laws of Parliament, but preventing a Member of Parliament (MP) from filing a motion of no confidence may be unwise. Even if the motion is rejected, it is the right of the MP to file the motion.
It becomes a problem if the MP is prevented from filing a motion. If the MP is in any way prevented from filing a motion, then it sends a message that the same MP is unwelcome into the Parliament in Kuala Lumpur. If the MP is unwelcome in the Kuala Lumpur Parliament, then the rejected MP’s may have to set up a separate Parliament for themselves in another location inside Malaysia. Watch out. You see, preventing the MP’s from filing a motion is even worse still. Please do file a motion of no confidence in the Kuala Lumpur Parliament if you want to. Even if it does not succeed, at least you tried. Good luck.
Let me try and turn this into a joke or something. For example, I do not like the Japanese edible wasabe because it hurts my eyes and nose too much. One of these days I am going to file a vote of no confidence on wasabe. But I do like vanilla sundae. Therefore, one of these days I will file a vote of confidence on vanilla sundae.
