The future of Malaysian Indians is not with the Barisan Nasional (BN) anymore and they must work against the system.
How could BN government guarantee Indian community future without improving their social-economic well-being. They have been cheated by Barisan Nasional and Malaysian Indian Congress for the past 51 years. Will the Indian community will able to absorb the dissapointments and continue to support BN. It will be quite possible if BN leaders think that they could persuade Indians to support BN again.
After screwing Indians left, right and centre for the better part of half-a-century and aggressively pushing them to the lowest level of society through racist policies like the NEP, UMNO @ BN does indeed have a thick skin to even suggest that Indians should support BN.
If not for Hindraf, UMNO @ BN would not even have bothered to attend Indian's problem. Having emasculated the MIC over the years and turning their leaders into shameless favour-seeking puppets, the band of racists in Umno simply had no time for the welfare of the truly downtrodden among Indians. But after Hindraf dramatically highlighted the issue internationally and Umno and the BN completely lost the support of the Indians as a whole, some of the umnoputeras are trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the discriminated and marginalised.
I deeply sympathize with the back breaking poverty and marginalisation of the Indian underclass. I strive to understand their frustrations, and soothe their anger, only to be greeted by greater indifference from the powers-that-be. A traditionally complacent underclass had grown tired of their pathetic state, and bemoaned their powerlessness in their beloved country.
It was a plea for solidarity in a grand cause to completely remove all forms of marginalisation in our society, regardless of race. The Indians were sending out a message: we need you Malaysia.
