Only politicising brings results, says PKR

Kota Kinabalu: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Vice President, Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan called on Sabah politicians and sympathisers in the peninsula to continue politicising issues linked to the National Registration Department (NRD) that are affecting the sovereignty of Sabah and Sarawak within the Federation.

"The leaders from Sabah must not stop asking for correction in the NRD activities affecting Sabah. We must continue politicising until they are solved politically," he said in a statement, Friday.

He claimed that the NRD mess is obviously political and not administrative and far from being an isolated case of human error.

"So politics it is and thus political will is a prerequisite to stop NRD from registering illegals as citizens while victimising and demoting genuine citizens to be Permanent Residents," claimed Jeffrey.

"Politicising issues pertaining to NRD in Sabah is now paramount in order to safeguard the sovereignty, democracy, economy and future of the bona fide Sabahans.

"We must ask ourselves, where is our future headed if this NRD political game is not resolved? The pertinent question to ask is why our leaders in the government, who have the power, not resolving this?

"From now on, Sabah politicians, regardless of political party, need to drive home a very strong message that enough is enough on mistreating Sabahans over illegal immigrants and outsiders," said Jeffrey.
