Tee Keat wins, Soi Lek is MCA No. 2

Datuk Ong Tee Keat is the new MCA president. The Transport Minister defeated former vice-president Datuk Chua Jui Meng in the MCA elections at Wisma MCA here on Saturday.

Tee Keat polled 1,429 votes while Jui Meng received 917 votes.

The others vying for the deputy presidency were Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan, Datuk Donald Lim and Tanjung MCA deputy chairman Lee Hack Teik.

Soi Lek had 1,115 votes while Ka Chuan polled 1,001 votes, Donald had 209 and Lee had 10 votes.

Soi Lek, the former vice-president quit all his party and government posts over a sex video recording of him in January. The outspoken leader saw his 25-year-old political career collapse overnight following wide circulation of the video.

The four new MCA four vice-presidents are Perak’s Datuk Kong Cho Ha, former MCA Youth chief Datuk Liow Tiong Lai,Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen and Johor deputy MCA chief Tan Kok Hong.

Kong polled 1,798 votes, Liow had 1,725 votes, Dr Ng had 1,659 votes and Tan had 1,329 votes.

Lee Wei Kiat, Datuk Wong Foon Meng, Datuk Tan Chai Ho, Tan Cheng Liang, Dr Hou Kok Chung, Lee Chee Leong, Gan Ping Shou @ Gan Ping Sieu, Datuk Yu Chok Tow, Wong Nai Chee, Lee Sing Chooi, Wee Jeck Seng, Gan Tian Loo, Datuk Dr Yeow Chai Thiam, Datuk Chong Itt Chew, Datuk Hoh Khai Mun, Datuk Ti Lian Ker, Datuk Liew Yuen Keong, Datuk Wong Mook Leong, Kong Sing Chu, Datuk Khoo Keok Hai, Datuk Tee Siew Kiong, Loh Seng Kok, Datuk Wong Siong Hwee, Dr Por Choo Chor and Datuk Loke Yuen Yow.
