PKR parliamentarian S Manikavasagam today filed another police report on the death of local actress K Sujatha.
MCPXThis time, the MP for Kapar accused a senior police officer of allegedly having reasons to cover up her death.
In his police report lodged at the Kapar police station, Manikavasagam appended four photographs depicting several MIC leaders, including a deputy minister, attending a recent function hosted by former Sentul police chief ACP K Kumaran.
Manikavasagam argued that Kumaran’s relationship with MIC was “suspicious” since MIC president S Samy Vellu’s son Vel Paari was among those probed in Sujatha’s death.
Vel Paari is the chief executive of Maika Holdings while Sujatha used to work as his secretary. Following her death, Vel Paari was interviewed for five hours by the Sentul police.
No news after probe
Kumaran, who is now head of the parole department in the Bukit Aman police headquarters, had previously denied Manikavasagam’s insinuations of having links with MIC.
On Aug 17 last year, Kumaran filed a defamation suit against Manikavasagam for linking him with MIC and accusing him of covering up the matter.
In the same month, the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters took over investigations from the Sentul police.
The probe was wrapped up a month later and the investigation papers were sent to the Attorney-General’s Chambers. No charges have been preferred since.
Manikavasagam has lodged a series of police reports on the matter and claimed that there were elements of foul play involved.
