MP, more than 40 activists held

KUALA KANGSAR: Police here are holding Sungai Siput Member of Parliament (MP) Dr D. Jeyakumar, his wife R. Mohanarani and about 45 others for participating in the “Ride for Change” campaign.

The nationwide cycling protest campaign is organised Jerit (Jaringan Rakyat Tertindas or Marginalised People’s Network) to raise issues on the need to enact a minimum wage act, abolish draconian laws and others.

Besides the MP and his wife, those held Tuesday morning at the police station here were five Jerit coordinators and 40 participants.
