List of new ministers and deputies
Kong Cho Ha: Transport Minister (previous post: Housing and Local Government Minister)
Chor Chee Heung: Housing and Local Government Minister (previous post: Deputy Finance Minister)
Rohani Abdul Karim: Deputy Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister (previous post: Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister)
Jelaing Mersat: Deputy Transport Minister (previous post: Deputy Home Minister)
Lee Chee Leong: Deputy Home Minister (previous post: Deputy Foreign Minister)
Senator Heng Seai Kie: Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister (previous post: Deputy Information Communication and Culture Minister)
Senator G Palanivel: Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister
Richard Riot Jaem (Serian MP): Deputy Foreign Minister
Chua Tee Yong (Labis MP): Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister
Senator Donald Lim Siang Chai: Deputy Finance Minister
Senator Maglin Dennis D'Cruz: Deputy Information Communication and Culture Minister
Senator Gan Ping Sieu: Deputy Youth and Sports Minister.
Multi Racial: The removal of OTK (Ong Tee Keat) and replaced with tainted Chor Chee Heung will make things worse for BN. If they were to retain OTK then it shows the government is serious about getting to the bottom of the PKFZ (Port Klang Free Zone) scandal.
Not only did they remove OTK, they replace him with Chor, who is one of the several politicians alleged to be involved in the scandal. Tiong King Sing can now claim he is the real master of all, including Najib, who have to kowtow to the tycoon-cum-Bintulu MP.
All For The Road: So the Port Klang Free Zone fiasco will be buried together with the former transport minister. Where is the accountability and transparency?
Concerns: The reshuffle is full of backdoor deputy ministers. It seems that back door is easier to enter - no need to work so hard at winning thousands and thousands of votes to get to the Dewan Rakyat.
Anonymous: What has G Palanivel done for the Indians to warrant making him a deputy minister? He is not fit to hold any post. Just when Indian started building their trust towards BN, now they're given another shock.
WFcoolie: MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek has decided to take the gamble with his green-horn son without even serving a full term of MP-ship to become a deputy minister! So much for a better MCA.
Wira: For those elections they cannot buy, there is still the Senate to fulfill every pretender's dream.
All in the game: It doesn't not look like a reshuffle to create a dynamic, vibrant, forward-thinking, progressive, no-nonsense, globally-aware strategic administrative team. It is just a rehabilitation programme for political rejects who cannot even command electoral approval.
Call me Jibby: What's with the two new second deputy ministers? Our government cabinet has grown? In the midst of bad economy and subsidies are slowly removed, the size of the cabinet should be trimmed down.
Ministers, deputy ministers and ministry secretaries are enjoying good pay, special allowance, perks, etc. Removing subsidies just to add more cabinet members?
Lim Chong Leong: So, after all the wheeling and dealing, more posts are created for the coalition members to pacify them. The cabinet has grown even fatter now, in the midst of our government imposing an austerity drive on its people.
That is PM Najib Abdul Razak's policy. He can't bite the bullet to implement bold reform measures from the top, like anti-corruption against Umno warlords, but he lets us swallow whole the garbage that he dishes out to us.
Dood: Poor guy (Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin). I hope he realises by now that he has been slighted and insulted not once, but twice.
