UMNO, please stop targeting the Chinese

December 1, 2011

It is unthinkable for a Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department to say that Chinese are taking control of both politics and economy of the country. He must have been having nightmares prior to the Umno annual assembly – that his party is going to lose the GE13.

As a YB attached to the PM’s Department, he should lead by example and speak out for unity amongst Malaysians – and not trying to target the Chinese race in order to win the votes from the Malays.

In reality, the Malays will still lead this country and the Chinese will not be taking control of either the politics and economy of this country. Even after the GE13, Malaysians of all races, especially the Chinese, will still support the PM who is a Malay, a DPM who is a Malay and the majority of the Cabinet who are Malays.

It is utterly nonsensical for Ahmad Maslan to instill fear that Malays are losing their powers to Chinese. The entire elected Government after the GE13 will be working for Malaysians of all races and not just one single race, even though majority of the new Cabinet will be Malays.

As Chinese, we have no problems whatsover with the majority of civil servants who are Malays and since independence, people of all races have been living in harmony to defend this country’s sovereignty and dignity.

The Chinese in PDRM and the Armed Forces are very loyal to this country even though the IGP and the ” Panglima ATM ” are Malays. The Chinese in civil service are very loyal to this country even though the KSN is a Malay.

Ahmad Maslan must stop using race card in getting supports from the Malays or Umno members because fellow Malaysians from all races are matured enough to cast their votes during the coming GE13.

If he was so misinformed as Umno Information Chief, he should “turun padang” and go to the ground and see for himself how well the Chinese and the Malays are getting along all over the country, in both private sector and public service.

For Ahmad Maslan’s information, I had personally seen Malays flying a DAP flag and a Chinese flying PAS flag on their motorcycles during the GE12 in Ipoh.

Maybe, he should reflect on his recent statement and ask why the Chinese supported PAS and Malays supported DAP in the last GE.

Like it or not, Ahmad Maslan has already put the MCA, Gerakan and other Chinese-based parties within BN in a even more difficult situation and the BN will have to do a lot more damage control before the GE13. Instilling fear that Malays are losing out to Chinese will not garner more supports for the BN or Ahmad Maslan himself.
