Dear HINDRAF Supporters,
In view of the serious negligence and deliberate act of Prison and Police in prematurely discharging our Human Rights Defender/Prisoner of Conscience Mr.P.Uthayakumar, I now urge all HINDRAF supporters to urgently Lodge Police reports against the Commandant of Taiping Prison and Home Minister for negligently and prematurely discharging Mr.P.Uthayakumar thus seriously damaging his health.
My family member who visited him yesterday confirms his complaints of decreased vision, giddiness, weakness and uncomfortable feeling in the heart. The doctor who examined him at Taiping Hospital suspected he may have damaged heart muscles and is suffering a silent heart attack as a result of being denied diabetes medication for more than a month but needs an ECO cardiogram to confirm this, which is only available at the Taiping Hospital on 28th April 2008.
His condition is so serious and my family are willing to bear the private medical expenses. He needs to be referred to IJN urgently and we need the public to support our request for urgent private medical treatment.
His mother Madam K. Kalaivaniy and fiancée Ms. Indra would be lodging separate Police reports at the Seremban and Brickfields Police stations tomorrow.
Upon discharge from Taiping Hospital he was again denied medication for more than 20 hours and served diet with high sugar content. What transpired after the close family visit yesterday afternoon is not known. We will have to wait until Sunday. But Sunday may be too late. Worse could happen to him and he is still silently suffering.
I do not understand the logic of premature discharge, withholding medication for more than 20 hours upon discharge, serving him with high sugar content food ect.
Is there a silent agenda to silently inflict torture so that he would damage his organs and come out a weak and incapable individual to lead the struggle HINDRAF has undertaken these years????
During his agony at Hospital he was handcuffed to the bed at all times like a common criminal. What is the point of handcuffing a man who is detained for acting against his conscience and who is laying on his “sick bed”? The mentalities of prison officers are really disgusting. He had indicated that he did not object to being discharged prematurely because he felt tortured being handcuffed to the bed 24 hours a day without being able to move his body within the bed. He underwent severe mental torture with the handcuff and therefore didn’t mind the discharge despite knowing it was to his detriment.
I call upon all supporters and civic-minded societies to urge the Government to stop this torture and cruel punishment of P.Uthayakumar.
ISN’T TAKING AWAY HIS LIBERTY, SOCIAL LIFE, ENJOYMENT, PEACE AND QUIET ENOUGH FOR THE GOVERNMENT. WHY THE NEED TO SILENTLY KILL HIM. THE WORLD IS WATCHING MR. PM!
