Dear Y.A.B,

Re: Demolishment of the Setapak Sri Muneswarar Hindu Temple for
the third time by DBKL and Developers.

We have received a complaint from the aforesaid Hindu Temple that their Hindu Temple was again demolished for the third time last week after having been demolished twice earlier by the DBKL Bulldozers, developers, gangsters and police special branch and the Setapak police.

It was the demolishment of this Hindu Temple that sparked nationwide public forums and campaigns that led to the 100,000 over People Power Makkal Sakthi rally at the Kuala Lumpur City Centre [KLCC], the Two Trillion sterling Pounds Civil Suit against British Government and the eventual detention under the draconian ISA of the four Hindraf lawyers without trial in an open Court of Law.

In this latest round the Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur and the Highway Developers engaged gangsters and the Setapak Police to demolish and harass this temple people.

Only in the last Parliamentary Session the deputy Minister of Federal Territories made a ministerial statement in parliament that no Hindu Temples would be demolished in the Federal Territory in particular.

The Prime Minister even as late as the eve on Merdeka day announced that he would like to meet Heads of the various and all religious every year just before Merdeka [Utusan 31/08/08 page 2]. But at the ground reality is otherwise as in the case before your goodself.

We hereby ask that your goodself urgently intervene and direct a one acre piece of nearby land within one Kilo Meter of this temple and end this problem once and for all. This Temple is prepared to relocate to move forward thereafter.

Why the UMNO controlled Malaysian Government making it very difficult for the Hindus and the Indians in this country? Would anybody dare do this to a mosque, surau or even a Chinese Temple?

Thank you,

Yours faithfully,

P. Waytha Moorthy
[Chairman- Currently in London]
