PKR To Look Into Chinese Issues

PETALING JAYA: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Adviser Anwar Ibrahim said once Pakatan Rakyat (PR) formed the government, they would look at the issues of Chinese independent school, Taiwan and China academic certificates in a more open manner.

He said the issue of academic certificates should not be viewed from the racial aspect, as long as it was a good education institute, government should recognize it.

"On this issue, as long as it is a good quality school, its academic qualification should be recognized, no matter the students obtain the certificates from China, India or Arab," Anwar told reporters in a press conference here, Tuesday (2 Sept).

Anwar added once PR formed the government, they would look at the issue in a more open manner.

"Our policies will be more opened, but do not force me to make a decision now. This issue should be discussed by PR leaders. Anyway, we do not have problem to recognize the academic qualifications," he said.

He said as he just became the Opposition Leader in Parliament, his priority is to focus on economic growth.
