mi1 salutes Nicol Paul Miranda for his bravery in this Bodohland

Bravo Nicol Paul Miranda !!! Ability to THINK n the balls to QUESTION is a rarity in Malaysia these days.

Great teachers love challenging questions. Nicol was in the wrong school. His school principal and teachers found the question too taxing on their brains as they have not been programmed for thinking. Instead of giving logical answers their brains went onto melt-down and confusion.Instead of protecting and nuturing the inquisitive mind, they betrayed his trust and made a police report! They should have explained why he should still believe in God when UMNO has hijacked Allah for their exclusive use, why he should still be loyal to the king who has forsaken the interest of his rakyat for the Almighty Ringgit and UMNO. They should have explained why he should celebrate independence when it has made his people's lot much worse. When purported institutions of higher learning are controlled by imbeciles who leave their teeny weeny brains at home when they go to work, there is little hope for the country's future. Even Mahathir has washed his hands of his glorious target of 2020. Zimbabwe, here we come!

Well done Nicol! There isn't anything wrong in asking questions. If the answer is logical and rational then accept it, we should not be forced to accept everything that's been told by the government. Regardless of what party it is, we make up our own minds! That is the only way the people of the nation will evolve!

Your case here clearly shows either how stupid the teachers are or their political alignment to certain parties. The education system should not have people especially teachers who are politically involved. If I'm wrong, then I guess they are just plain stupid for accepting whatever that has been fed to them....

You have done a great job for others to emulate. We should not fear if the right to speak is spoken.

How can this nation progress if we have such stupid teachers. Nicol should be encouraged as he has an inquisitive mind. For this nation to progress, we must have teachers who encourage students to have an open mind and ask relevant questions. Teachers should respond positively.

MOE, You know our schools and teachers are pathetic. You said you want to revamp the education system and develop critical thinking and analytical skills among students. There you go. Take this school to task for hampering critical thinking and analytical abilities. It is the school and not the student who needs to be disciplined. Take no action and fail in your endeavor.

I m with you my boy, sometime this bunch of hypocrites need to be woken up from their bigotry!

God bless you, Nicol. I hope they won't intimidate or harm you or your family.

Schools are supposed to encourage critical thinking and debate. If this is how our educators respond, no wonder our country is going down the tubes. There are plenty of examples in history which could have been drawn upon, political philosophies but these teachers resorted to blackmail and holding this boy to ransom? Great! It's good to know the thuggish behaviour now includes teachers, politicians, the Judiciary, MACC, the police ..

In the first place, we won't have stupid teachers if clever people become teachers. If clever people are willing to make sacrifices and treat teaching as a vocation and not a job, then we would have less stupid teachers. The problem is many clever people prefer to look for high paying or high flying jobs. Why can't clever people become teachers for a change? Would you be willing to offer yourself to be a teacher?

Obviously, the culprit educationist(s) from the school should be exposed publicly and re-educated for being stupid on handling inquisitive students. They are unfit to teach if they cannot cope with thinking students. The culprit(s) too must be taught lessons beyond textbooks by the public if what is reported holds true.

Whoever from the school who lodged the police complaint should be reprimanded and disciplined by MoE. The issue came up within the school and must remain and solved within the school. All he did was to ask questions, something which students should be encouraged to do in pursuit of knowledge. At the most, whoever-it-is doesn't like it can only send him for counseling. This is definitely not something for the police to get involved with.

To threaten to not release his school leaving certificate is very malicious because this affects his future. Who is this !@#$%^& person who can hold power of the boy's future? This threat must be condemned strongly by everyone. The Minister of Education must carry out an open inquiry into this issue to ensure that this will never happen again.

The people who did this to Nicol Paul Miranda at SMK Vivekananda, do not follow the teachings laid down by the late, great Swami Vivekananda (1863 -1902). For if they did, they would have heard these famous words made by great Vivekananda;

“You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself.”

“GOD of truth, be Thou alone my guide…”

“Tell the truth boldly, whether it hurts or not. Never pander to weakness. If truth is too much for intelligent people and sweeps them away, let them go; the sooner the better”.

“Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, that is way great spiritual giants are produced.”

“Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man”

What so surprising? Making false police report has become a favourite hobby of some people in Bodohland.
