PETALING JAYA: Police have resumed their crackdown on Hindraf activists with the arrest of eight leaders and activists in Lunas, Kedah, this morning.

The eight were detained during a forum held by the Indian-based group’s on the controversial ‘Interlok’ novel.

Human Rights Party pro-tem secretary, P Uthayakumar, told FMT the eight include HRP president W Sambulingam, Kedah HRP chief and deputy chief, P Muniandy and R Ramu, and activists MS Maniam, S Dass, D Raja and CF Mani.

More arrests are expected today as the party has organised another forum in Seberang Perai, Penang.

“The police have put up notice that they would arrest attendees at the forum,” Uthayakumar said.
