I understand that the government has its responsibility towards our community and we too have all the rights to stand for our rights. Let’s all of us continue fighting for our rights but at the same time we do help each other as much as we can or else i...n 50 years time, we’ll be categorized as lived & gone community in the history book. Never know once again we'll be called as pariah in the history book. They can call us whatever they want and now let’s prove to them what happens if we show up as 1. Obviously we can’t see changes overnight but trust me we'll enjoy the success soon if we start working on it now. As I have mentioned earlier, I would like to suggest using the World Vision concept and starting raising fund for our Tamil Schools and also sponsors for our Indian Orphanage Homes. In order to put this into action, we first need to create a web particularly fund raising for education.
There we will have 2 parts which is donations of RM10 on a monthly basis for our Tamil schools facilities and sponsorship program of MR50 for tuition fees for all registered Indian Orphanages. For example if there is 30 Indian Homes with 1000 children (both Tamil & Kebangsaan school children) we need to find 1000 sponsors to sponsor each kid. And for that we need to post the photos of all the 1000 kids with their details (name & age) and maybe 2 lines about their history and family background for those single parents/poor family. We just need to mention our objective and vision in creating this website in the introduction. Maybe we can set RM50 as the standard sponsor amount for each kid or it can be set according to their age/standard/form. Since the children are from a particular home, we request the owners to issue a receipt for the sponsors on a monthly basis for their income tax exception. If possible I would strongly recommend for the owner to also provide a copy of the kid's progress card/report card attached with the receipt just to keep the sponsor updated with the kid's progress in his/her studies. Just to add on to it, to create a more loving & caring family relationship between the sponsor & the kid, I encourage the kid to write/email letters & vice versa. Simply because we are expecting sponsors from all over the world, especially those Malaysians who have migrated to overseas, this is the time for them to play their role as a born Malaysian Indian.
Moving to the usage of the money, yes it is impossible for us to send the children for tuition classes with just RM50; here we are looking for volunteers to teach with no payment and/or school teachers or retirees to teach the children with the sponsored money. Of course we are not going to spend all the money paying the teachers; we need the money to be equally segregated according to the subjects. For example again, if there is 10 form 3 students, we can only afford to pay RM10 per student which means RM100 for the math teachers and same goes to all the other teachers. Trust me folks this little coaching from the teachers can really be helpful for average students especially who are currently scoring 40-60 marks. Anyway matters like this can be discussed further.
The main objective here is the sponsors must know what are we doing or going to do with their money and everything has to be transparent to their eyes. On the other hand, we get donors to donate only RM10 every month for our Tamil school facilities; it also can be done as a one off donation. If this turn out to be a success I've no doubt of us coming up with foundations/organizations to provide skill training for our children especially for those school dropouts or poor in studies. We have thousands of members in all those groups created in FB to improve the future of Indian community; which I believe all of us are striving our level best for our children better future in this country, if only all of us agree to sponsor 1 child, there is no space for the word orphanage, all our Indian children will have us as their family to support them, to support their education; the best gift anyone can gift.
Please take note that I'm not forcing anyone here, please think about this idea, think about the pros & cons of this idea & share your opinion if this can help our community. If this concept is successful globally, why can’t we the Indians make it a success as well? After-all this is for our better future in this country. Think about it with no delays...
