The Kluang dinner was attended by some 250 hardcore HRP and Hindraf supporters on 16/7/2011 at 8.00 pm at the Dewan Persatuan Membaiki Akhlak Che Luan Khor Kluang.
The event started with the singing of the HRP/Hindraf “Tholvi” song with P.Uthayakumar and key Johor members singing on stage.
Johor chairman Y.Mohan outlined the state HRP & Hindraf activities. S.Jayathas spoke on the national activities of HRP & Hindraf.
There was a documentary on P.Waythamoorty’s International campaign. After which Y.Mohan announced the briefing by United Kingdom Solicitor Imran Khan on the intended class action civil suit by Hindraf against the British Government on 14/8/11 at the Hokkien Hall in Klang. There was some interest shown in people wanting to organize buses to come on 14/8/2011.
P.Uthayakumar then outlined HRP’s Project 15/38. When he announced that UMNO must be toppled at all costs in the next general elections, there was unexpected and first time ever thunderous applause.
To us this is the earliest indication of the downfall of UMNO in the next general elections. We got an almost similar feedback nationwide in the prelude to the 12th General elections when Samy Vellu’s picture appeared in our slide shows but where people booed and shouted him out. But this time it is UMNO’s turn in the 13the General Elections, now that Samy Vellu whom UMNO had used as a political shield has been politically killed.
But P.Uthayakumar cautioned that we cannot be blind supporters of Pakatan Rakyat either and give them a blank cheque to Putrajaya. Like UMNO, Pakatan Rakyat (PR) parties PKR,DAP,PAS led by Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang and Hadi Awang are also political opportunist who only want the Indian votes and not their problems. They are takers and never givers to the Indian poor. Therefore P.Uthayakumar said that Pakatan Rakyat must make way for HRP in their Project 15/38 seats for a one and one contest with UMNO/BN as our contribution in toppling UMNO from Putrajaya after 54 long years of continuous rule without a break in the chain.
P.Uthayakumar highlighted that PR’s 11 Indian MP and 13 Indian ADUN mandores are powerless as they won on the Malay and Chinese votes.
P.Uthayakumar pointed out that the UMNO/BN or Pakatan Rakyat Indian mandores could not even get their tuans or towkays to grant even one “vadai” license to any Indian poor. What more the Hindraf 18 Point Demands.
P.Uthayakumar urged all HRP and Hindraf supporters in Kluang to help by getting at least 10 people to register as voters in DUN Puteri Wangsa and Tiram which is within Parliament any constituency of Tebrau with the view to create at least two Indian majority DUNs and one Parliament seat in Johor in the face of the pseudo “multi-racial” PKR,DAP&PAS top leaders almost completely abandoning even the pressing Indian poor problems.
As usual there was a warm response more so in smaller towns like Kluang when P.Uthaykumar greeted the people as they were leaving. We also received valueable feedback. We were pleased to meet the many Kluang supporters who had shaved their heads bald upon the release of P.Uthayakumar and on his beard shaving day on 17/5/09 and also those who were hit with FRU water canons, tear gas and beaten up on the 25th November 2007 Hindraf Rally. Some people told us that they had wanted to join the Bersih Rally but upon P.Uthayakumar’s statement, had stayed away. But in any event they had sought clarification why so to which P.Uthayakumar replied repeating the main example in his speech earlier that there are One Million Indian voters but not even one Indian majority Parliament or DUN seats out of the 222 and 576 seats respectively that was included in Bersih @ Pakatan’s 8 point demands. How could this be free and fair elections by Bersih @ Pakatan Rakyat? Where is the fairness? What more Bersih = Pakatan Rakyat is still refusing to endorse Hindrafs’ 18 Point Demands.
There was almost pin drop silence during P.Uthayakumar’s 45 minutes slide show presentation.
The police Special Branch who were in full force recorded the event from the beginning and right up to the end.
But after the 25th November 2007 Hindraf Rally the Indian poor are no longer fearful of the UMNO regime or their Polis Raja-Di malay-sia anymore.
Rights Not Mercy
Y.Mohan
