I will march, Will you march with me?

I will march for the poor,
Who chose to buy food,
Instead of transportation to the rally;
I march for the money given to the needy to vote,
For candidates who will never benefit the country.

I will march for the old,
Whose bones have worn away,
But hearts still blaze with righteous anger;
I march for the liberty they won from colonial masters,
Eroding away in the hands of unfairly elected leaders.

I will march for the brainwashed,
Who genuinely believe everything the government says,
Who cannot understand why we have to resort to the streets;
I march for their right to unbiased election news,
And candidates’ policy, instead of their dirty linen.

I will march for everyone,
But most of all…

I will march for myself,
To exercise my right as a Malaysian citizen,
To demand for change in a yellow wave;
I march for leaders elected for their merits,
Instead of how well they run a dirty campaign.
