Hindraf 54 Ipoh dinner forum upbeat on contesting 7 State and 3 Parliament seats in Perak with 20% to 54% Indian voters.

HRP tipping scale as P.R won by only 2 seats in 2008 G.E.

3In all the 50 years of General Elections, the Malaysia Indians have always been given the illusion that they were the King makers. But after the elections they are repeatedly made out to become the king’s slaves. The Perak Indians will only become the real king makers when they contest and win the seven Indian concentrated state seats of Buntong (47%), Hutan Melintang (33%), Jalong (27%), Changkat Jong (27%), Jelapang (21%), Pasir Panjang (20%) and Sungkai (20%) said HRP Secretary General P.Uthayakumar at the Hindraf 54 prosecuted by racist UMNO fund raising dinner. This event was attended by 700 Hindraf & HRP activists at Ipoh on 14/5/11.

This event was about the most upbeat in the last 1 ½ years after P.Uthayakumar’s first round of nationwide roadshows in the first six months of release from ISA detention without trial on23 9/5/09.

This and only with this will the Perak Indians become the real king makers as the previous P.R. government won by only a mere two state seats and B.N. took back the rule of Perak State when three of the P.R. ADUNs’ crossed over to B.N. This HRPs’ seven state seats win would be the real king makers and then and only then can the deep rooted Indian poor problems begin to be seriously solved with this new found political clout. And beginning with land for all hindu temples, cemetaries and the hundreds of Indian villages and settlements like Kg DBI and Kg Kachang Putih in Ipoh Perak.

Only HRP with political power can give effect to this serious Indian problems.

This event on 14/5/11 at the Sun Lee How Fook Restaurant, Ipoh started with the trademark Tholvi Neelai Yena Ninaithal inspirational song with all Hindraf & HRP leaders on stage singing along and to the simultaneous video presentation of the Hindraf struggle projected on the background screen.

7Perak Chief P.Ramesh spoke on the need and necessity of a permanent solution by the grant of Perak state land titles and gazette all 134 Perak Tamil schools, all hindu temples, cemeteries and the hundreds of Indian villages and settlements like Kg DBI and Kg Kachang Putih in Ipoh, Perak.

Nagesh, the organising Chairman who sold 25 tables on his own welcomed every one present.

The lawyer for the six Hindraf activists prosecuted in Ipoh ie Mr. Anthony Augustine spoke on the rights of these Hindraf activists.

W.Sambulingam in his usual style moved the crowd by his thunderous speech. Sambu is no politician per se but thundered from his heart. Sambu pointed out that the some 700 genuine Hindraf & HRP activists and supporters bought their tickets at RM 500.00 to RM1,000.00 per table and contributed by their attendance and not like the other B.N. and P.R. parties who largely give out tickets with a free meal and a show hampers, ang pows etc to lure the participants to attend for their political survival wheras in HRP we are political activists and not politicians.28

P.Uthayakumar did a slide show presentation. In response to Pakatan Rakyat (P.R) ex Perak Menteri Besar Y.B. Dato Seri Nizar Jamaluddin’s appeal to the Perak Indians at a P.R. forum last month admitting that P.R. had not done much for the Indians in their 11 months rule of Perak and wanting another chance in the next General Elections. P.Uthayakumar replied that if Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang and Hadi Awang were prepared to give in writing that they would honour all of Hindraf’s 18 point demands then HRP is prepared to refrain from contesting even in one seat. But PKR, DAP and PAS have refused to do so but only want the Indian votes for free of charge and then to dump them again after the next General Elections.

25P.Uthayakumar pointed out that Nizar Jamaluddin and PKR, DAP and PAS had even within the first month of their rule liberally given out land titles in Perak to 110,000 Malay muslims under the 349 Rancangan Kampung Tersusun, 102,000 Chinese living in Chinese New Villages, 10 acres land each to the Orang asli and 1,000 acres to nine Chinese Independent schools who were all granted permanent land titles. But to the direct contrary Nizar, PKR, DAP and PAS had outrightly denied land to all the 134 Tamil schools, all hindu temples and cemetaries and all Indian villages like Kg.DBI and Kg.Kachang Putih in Ipoh and hundreds others.

And neither did UMNO/BN grant this land in their 53 year rule of Perak. 11

But if HRP had won the seven state seats, HRP could have asserted political pressure on both UMNO/BN and PR to grant land for the aforesaid Indian poor public purposes as both BN and P.R. would need the support of the seven HRP ADUNs’ as P.R. and B.N had won or lost by only the two and three seats respectively.1621

This is HRPs’ political strategy and the way forward.

HRP Vice President K.Tamil Selvam’s speech, 3 lucky draws and Bharathanatiyam by local talent P.Ramesh and Nagesh’s daughters and a Q and A Session ended the event early at about 11.10 p.m without dragging it too much. P. Uthayakumar met and greeted supporters autographed his books Malaysian Indian Political Empowerment Strategy The Way Forward and Nov 25 Hindraf Rally 2007 and supporters taking photographs with him.2
