I don’t remember ever buying “Utusan Malaysia”. Judging by the headlines in Utusan“, I doubt I will change my position and start reading this UMNO controlled newspaper. In my mind almost all the MSM in Malaysia does not meet the standard of independence and responsible journalism but “Utusan Malaysia” has proven that it is probably worth less than a toilet paper. The only reason I knew about this when I saw the headlines at my regular news vendor and after watching further propaganda on TV3.
We must accept that without proof we cannot deny or admit such a thing happened. However based on logical assessment and the majority Malaysian mentality of the religion of Islam, it does not make any sense at all.
Common sense will show that Christians will not dare to get involved in a sensitive matter like religion in Malaysia. Utusan @ UMNO is exactly a green thumb politician and they have been given out such instructions by the authorities to write such article. If at all they know the consequences of writing such an article especially the headline and without the backup from UMNO, such an article would be non existence.
In any case, I also wonder sometimes if it Muslims in Malaysia are dumb to believe whatever that is written in the newspaper especially owned by UMNO. My expectation from UMNO is for them to show us the way for better living. The weak reaction of the Najib shows very poorly of him. I expect UMNO to show that they are better and they can deliver and able to compete for the people’s trust in an environment where they no longer believe in it.Right now that is not happening. What they are doing is merely continue to divide the people along religion and ethnic lines. This is sad. Do they really think they can win votes this way? Don’t they realize that people voted them out because they are fed up with their ways? I wonder why UMNO is not able to do the right thing to regain my trust.
Taliban then later on Al-Qaeda was sponsored by the CIA and Osama bin Ladin , was used with or without his awareness in order to chase the Russians out of Afganistan. In Malaysia, UMNO is using whatever means to chase non malays out of Malaysia.
What has UMNO done that makes being Malay is better than a Chinese and Indians? Apart from BN ruling this country for more than 54 years, they have destroyed Malaysian in terms of constitution, policy, social mores, religious authorities or our religion and god.
Malaysian under UMNO regime is a troubled country and Malaysians are caught within a personal trapped mindset which has inhibited from progressing. Non Malays believe that god has created an unfair world of Malaysia and all this unfairness has limited progress of the country and it just doesn’t make sense in this 21st century. I may be wrong but would Malaysians clarify the above first before we go deeper.
In any event Malaysians must distinguish between nation and politics. Americans do that. They may hate bush but defend the presidency and the nation. They too loathe all his policies and recriminating like you. They disagree with the war but honour the soldier fir they were fighting for the nation and the flag.
What UMNO is doing is morally wrong and downright unmalaysian. In fact I will argue it’s downright dangerous. I don’t like the politics especially UMNO why should I be proud to defend the nation. Can you imagine if the country is full of balasi. Distraught and rot in hell. It should not transgress beyond Politics affecting national pride and interest. Malaysia must united together to rubbish the gutter politics of UMNO.
Anyway what does it mean by 1Malaysia? Do we disregard our ethnicity all the time? Do we put religion behind?
Utusan Malaysia is really doing well or else with all these spinning since March 2008, the paper still sells. This is because the kampung folks ONLY read Utusan Malaysia. If Utusan Malaysia put it on front page, the impact is really tremendous. Who the hell cares that the Bandar folks boycott the toilet paper. No big deal! Could the present UMNO leadership be bailing out of governing by using self-destructive methods? How can anyone be so stupid? Perhaps they “know” or believe that the country is going bankrupt soon, there is no more incentives to stay in power. Having fed themselves enough but have no way of stepping down honourably and their supporters would demand some accountability, would it be easier to make it as if they tried their “very best” to fight for their supporters’ “rights” and “lost” in the next polls? They “win” and go live happily ever after overseas with their ill-gotten wealth while the alternative “win” too but inherit a polarized and “bankrupt” nation.
