MCA unleashes race-religion leaflet campaign
Ketuanan Rakyat: Where was MCA when Dr Mahathir Mohamad declared this country as Islamic state? It was Umno which is creating the division between the various races and religions in Malaysia. Malaysians are not stupid any more.
MCA talk about PAS controlling Pakatan Rakyat in front of the Chinese while Umno talks about DAP (Chinese) controlling the Pakatan in front of the Malays. In Selangor, Umno and Perkasa are warning the Malays that Selangor is becoming another Singapore.
It is time to say 'no' to 'Ketuanan Umnoputras' and their running dogs MCA and MIC and 'yes' to 'Ketuanan Rakyat'. Fifty-three years of abuse by BN/Umno is enough. Vote Pakatan which comprises of equal partners PAS, DAP and PKR.
Call me Jibby: MCA, isn't 'songkok' part of the official attire of Aduns (state assembly representatives), especially from Johor? The MCA Aduns betray Chinese by wearing 'songkok' in the DUN (state assembly)?
And can you explain why your big brother Umno is tirelessly courting PAS to join BN with the excuses of the religion of Islam and the race of Malay are threatened?
Wira: MCA is often publicly chided by Umno and yet they have the audacity to make fun of DAP being subservient to PAS. This kind of idiocies only appeals to morons and reflects a failed party in desperation.
Kgen: These fear tactics don't work anymore. Chinese fear Umno's religious bigotry more than they fear PAS. MCA is using outdated tactics which was buried with the 12th general election.
DAP is subservient to PAS? How ironic because Umno is always saying PAS is a stooge of DAP.
Cikgu Mala begins task to court Chinese
Swipenter: The non-Muslims like PAS for their righteousness but afraid of their self-righteousness. As a multiracial and multicultural country, PAS (and others) must be down to earth and take cognisance of this fact.
Our country can be governed with many elements of Islamic teachings incorporated into the administration especially universal values of freedom, equality, accountability, transparency, tolerance and acceptance of diversity, abhorrence towards corruption and racism.
But if PAS keeps on harping on their self-righteousness and how pure an Islamic way of life is compared to the ways of the non-Muslims, then mutual trust and understanding for each other cannot reach its full potential.
Disgusted: Is Normala Sudirman willing to shake hands with her future constituents without any reservation? She must remember when you go for public office the public expect her to be close to them to hear their heartbeat and be there to help and support them and articulate their needs in the Dewan when they need her help.
That is the crux of being a representative of the people.
Abahpenang: Yes, Cikgu Mala can shake hands, but only with women. It is forbidden in Islam for her to shake hands with males, but she can do so if she covers her hands.
I am sure you do not want BN to use the fact that she is shaking hands with men as a weapon to attack her in the BN campaign for the Malay vote.
Johor MB: Extremism is why you shouldn't back PAS
Singa Pura Pura: Extremism is precisely why the Chinese and the Indians must not vote Umno. When a Chinaman is found in a pool of blood at the foothill of Umno's MACC on the eve of his marriage registration, and is instead accused of committing suicide, that is extremism.
When Indians die like flies in custody, and when they try to speak up – get arrested and bundled up on Thaipusam at Batu Caves – that is extremism. Extremism is also why even the Malays must not vote Umno again.
When Umno leaders (with the help of a self-confessed zina-ist) use Islam like a crucifix to scare the Chinese away from Islam itself, that is the grandmother of all extremism.
Toffeesturn: Extremism? In which states and under whose rule did we have body snatching? Kelantan, Kedah?
Who are the judges who refuse to make judgments that marriages in the civil registry should be annulled in the normal courts and not the syariah courts.
We know the judiciary in its present form belongs to Umno, so who are the extremists?
AnakBangsaMalaysia: Interesting. Presumably Johor Menteri Besar Abdul Ghani Othman considers the Umno-spawned Perkasa, Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia, the keris-waving home minister, the 'cow's head' and 'chicken killer' gangs to be 'moderates'.
He should certainly mention all of these excellent examples of Umno's racial and religious moderation during the Tenang campaign.
