MP dares SB to name those who are reds and JI

DAP chairperson Karpal Singh has challenged the police Special Branch to name those who are allegedly communists and Jemaah Islamiah (JI) members said to be infiltrating the opposition parties.

Describing the assertions as wild allegations, Karpal, who is also Bukit Gelugor MP, said that the move was merely trying to undermine Pakatan Rakyat.

“I challenge the Special Branch to name those JI members and communists who are said to have infiltrated Pakatan Rakyat. This is merely an underhand tactic to undermine the opposition coalition,” he said.

NONEKarpal (right) was met after his sedition charge proceedings at the Kuala Lumpur High Court today.

Yesterday, it was reported that police Special Branch investigationshave allegedly concluded that JI terrorists and former communists are infiltrating opposition parties and were trying to be fielded as candidates in the coming general election.

Assistant director of the E2 (M) national social extremist threat division head Mohd Sofian Md Makinuddin, who was speaking at the National Young Leaders Convention in Parliament yesterday, claimed JI elements were trying to infiltrate PAS while the communist elements were trying to infiltrate DAP.

“Several PSM and PKR leaders are frequently visiting Bangkok and southern Thailand for what is believed to be secret visits with former Communist Party of Malaya leaders.

“The result of this is that ideas related to new politics that can potentially affect the core values of the country are on the rise,” Mohd Sofian was quoted as saying.
