UMNO created powerless showpiece Senior MIC Minister and merely the “Mandore” (supervisor) in the UMNO controlled Malaysian government

When suggested that the Indians had a cabinet representative in the government who could solve the Indian problems, I answered that MIC was an UMNO created powerless showpiece Senior Minister and merely the “Mandore” (supervisor) in the UMNO controlled Malaysian government and had no or very little power to address the pressing and critical Indian issues and that this MIC “mandore” system has succeeded in excluding the Indians from the national mainstream development of Malaysia for the past 50 years.

The unprecedented about 100,000 strong peaceful assembly earlier 2008 only affirms the genuine grievances of the people at the ground level. I explained that only UMNO has the power to solve these critical Indian problems but used the MIC as the scapegoat, fall man, whipping boy and bogeyman for not doing enough for its community and that way escaped from the blame.
